1. Remove grease and free corrosion from the components to be cleaned. By this, the process of de-rusting will be sped up and the life of the solution will be extended, as well as its potential repeated use. KORALON® concentrate should be diluted with water in 1 : 4 ratio (1 unit of the concentrate : 4 units of water). The process of de-rusting can be sped up by the use of hot water. The ideal temperature of the solution is 20 to 50 °C. It means that a thing which is de-rusted in one hour at 20 °C will need up to 5 hours at 7 °C.
2. Dip the components to be de-rusted in hot solution. Check the de-rusting process regularly, and wait until rust is dissolved.
3. Rinse the cleaned components with water.
De-rusting of large objects:
Provide for incessant circulation of the solution over the corroded surface until rust is completely dissolved. Use a big vessel, canvas etc. to be placed beneath the object cleaned, connect it to a small pump with a hose, and let KORALON® solution circulate over the corroded surfaces. Rinse the cleaned components with water.
The removal of deep corrosion (5 mm or more) may require letting the solution overnight. Average time necessary to remove rust is 5 to 12 hours. As prevention of corrosion, dip in clean KORALON® solution again and let dry. It is also possible to use an atomizer and let dry. For repeated use of the solution, remove the released corrosion from it, e.g. by filtering it. Evaporation of the solution – like all liquids based on water lose water by evaporation, KORALON® solution loses volume due to the effect of temperature and long exposure. The use of closed vessels is recommended. If this is not possible. mark the level on the vessel before cleaning. After cleaning, check the level, and replenish evaporated water up to the initial level.
